Welcome to Fall quarter.

Today is the first day of this fall quarter. There are fifteen people come to class. Nine people are old students, and six people are new students. All the students came from different countries but they have one same thing, they want to learn English and look for a job. All the women like to cook and travel, some people like to cook and play sports. Only Lelicia likes pets. Vanh likes camping and fishing. Auturo likes to meet people. Jun likes to watch TV. Gerie likes to clean. Most of people don’t like gossip. Kesone and Larisa don’t like ironing. Some people don’t like to wake up early, clean house, wash dishes, and stay home, smoke, snow, work, baseball, black birds (crows).
I forget one thing, I didn’t ask teacher. What does she like and doesn’t. But I think teacher likes to play the Japanese Koto and pets, teacher doesn’t like to cook.

This summer, our class learned about Mr. Putter and Tabby story. The first story was Mr. Putter and Tabby Pour the tea. I saw the picture of the story book. There was a big beautiful dream house and a lot of flower around in the garden, but Mr. Putter only lived alone. He was very sad. He found a fine cat. He named her Tabby. They lived together and enjoyed their lives.
Next story was Mr. Putter and Tabby Fly the plane, See the stars, Walk the dog, Paint the porch, Row the boat… The author Cynthia Rylant makes the readers remember when they were kids. They dreamed about toys. They wanted to live in a house with flowers in the garden; little animals like rabbits, squirrels, chipmunks; little pets like the cat Tabby and the dog Zeke; trees like elm, pear, pine, apple; children’s food like popovers, popcorn and chocolate, pudding, Frosty Freeze, hot fudge sundae with cherries, etc. The author created good neighborhoods. Mrs. Teaberry and Mr. Putter live together friendly and take care of each other. Many Cynthia Rylant’s stories make readers happy, remind them of their childhood and create warm feeling lives. Rylant’s readers like them.a
If I were to meet Cynthia Rylant, I would ask her which animal, flower and food do you like the most.

Mrs.Teaberry and The Lollypup.
One day Mrs.Teaberry slipped on a kiwi and hurt her foot. Mr.Putter took her to the doctor, and took care a little Lollypup(name of small dog Zeke). She was a little worried about Lollypup.
The Nightmare.
The first day Mr.Putter and Tabby took him for a walk, he tugged Mr.Putter and Tabby through yards and creeks and houses they had never been through before. When Mr.Putter and Tabby got home, they had to have some warm milk and pudding and a nap.
The second day Lollypop wrapped around an elm tree, he warpped around a pine tree, he warpped around a pear tree. And he always wrapped Mr.Putter and Tabby with him. When Mr.Putter and Tabby got home, they had to have some warm milk and popovers and a nap.
The third day Lollypup chased dogs. And he didn't chase little ones. He chased big ones. He chased a Russian Wolfhound. He chased a Great Dane. He chased a Saint Bernard. He chased them until they got bored with being chased. Then they turned around and chased Lollypup. And Mr.Putter and Tabby. When Mr.Putter and Tabby got home, they had to have some warm milk and shortbread and a nap. "Lollypup is not a dream dog" Mr.Putter said to Tabby when they woke up. "lollypup is a nightmare"
And Mr.Putter sat a long time wondering what to do.
The Dream Dog.
Mr.Putter said on the fourth day." You be a good dog, and every day after our walk you'll get a nice surprise."
Lollypup was a smart dog. The fouth day, he didn't tug, he didn't warp, and he didn't chase. He was a dream dog. So Mr.Putter and Tabby took him to the Frosty Freeze. Lollypup had a hot fudge sundae with extra cherries. The fifth day, sixth day, he didn't tug, didn't warp, didn't chase. So Mr.Putter and Tabby took him to the swimming pool. He jumped off the diving board fifteen times. He was dream dog, he went to the carnival, the seventh day he went to the zoo.
When Mr.Putter and Tabby took Lollypup home for the last time, Mrs.Teaberry asked,"Was Zeke a good Lollypup?" He said,"Zeke was a dream lollypup.
Then he and Tabby said good-bye and went home and had a party.

Mr. Putter & Tabby Fly the Plane.

Mr.Putter loved toys when he was young. He drove into town, he found the toy store, he bought some toys for Tabby, Tabby was not happy the toy, but Tabby loved Mr.Putter so she put up with all of it. The wind-ups made her twitch. The pop-ups made her jump. And anything that flew gave her the hiccups. Mr.Putter played with everything. He played with the dump trucks, cranes, bear onthe flying trapezw, but most of all, he played with the planes.
He loved planes, his favorite were Biplanes, he loved monoplanes and seaplanes and shiny ace Junkers.
One day when Mr.Putter and Tabby were in the toy store and Tabby was hissing at a wind-up penguin, Mr.Putter saw a plane he had never seen before. It was white and red, with two wings on each side and a little flag on its tail. It was the most beautiful biplane he had ever seen. And it had a radio control so a person might really fly it. Mr.Putter was in love. He bought the little plane and came home. Then they ate their muffins, they poured their tea with cream , they went outside to fly his new plane. Tabby still didn't like Mr.Putter's plane. Mr.Putter read all the directions and pressed the start button. But the plane did not start. It just rolled over and died. Tabby purred. He set it right again, but it did not start. Tabby purred and purred. He was sad, Tabby felt sad, too. Tabby went to Mr.Putter and rubbed herself against his legs. She sat on his shoulder, put her head by his, and licked his nose. This made Mr.Putter feel better. He decided to try again. The little plane choked, the little plane coughed, the litte plane gagged. It warmed up and began to sound better. And then it flew! It flew hight into the blue sky. Mr.Putter cheered. Tabby purred and hiccuped
Every day, Mr.putter and Tabby played the biplane. Children from town heard about the plane, they came to the fiels to watch it fly. He loved this, he felt like a proud grandpa.
One boy was a little shy, a little clumsy, a little forgetful.Just like Mr.Putter, but whenever the boy flew Mr.Putter's plane, he wasn't shy or clumsy or forgetful at all. He was strong, he was sure, he was happy.
Mr.Putter remembered himseld as a boy, he wanted a plane, but he didn't have, so he decided to give his little bipland to the shy, clumsy, forgetful boy. The boy became a hero among the other children.
And Mr.Putter and Tabby went back to their tea and muffins, their tulip and roses.

The Tanabata legend.
Orihime was a weaver. She wove the pattern of stars, she wove a soft brocade of sparkling night sky, with a lot of beautiful color.
Kenyu was a farmer, he walked steadily behind his oxen and tilled the fields. One day, he urged his oxen to walk beyond their field. At twilight the first star appeared, he looked up and he saw Orihime. Just at that moment Orihime glanced down past her star brocade, and saw Kenyu. Their eyes met, they fell in love. They forgot about their duties. The sky became darker, oxen wandered around, the stars were no longer woven in. Her parents were mad. They called her,and they callel him go back to work, but they didnpt hear. They pulled her back and pushed his back. The Queen used a silver pin and drew a silver river to keep them a part. Orihime cried. Her parents felt sad and decided they could meet only once a year on July 7. Every year Kenyu takes a boat to see Orihime. If the weather is nice, then they can meet. It the weather isn't nice, then they can't see each other.
